BIOGRAPHY

Oscar Hazell (born 1988 in London) A London based Artist & Curator whose work explores ideas of power, land, politics and history, a multi disciplinarian working primarily in moving image installations. Looking at the impacts of historical events on the development of space, its inhabitants and value, his latest work uses immersive installations, thus transforming the viewer into aesthetic explorations of these sites. Using acts within these spaces to highlight and discuss their appropriation, Hazell explores the correlations between sub cultural activities and that of feral and urbanised animals. The significance of the animal and the process of human and artistic practices becoming feral, expanding these ideas of space and its development and interpretation.

Hazell is also the founder and editor-in-chief of wardmagazine.com.

Oscar Graduated from BA Fine Art at Central Saint Martins in 2011.
